Post 6: English Language Challenges

I have been in two English at university, and both been online, so the experience was not very exciting because the plataform online makes me feel that I'm not in a real class. I can´t see my classmates and the part of socializing is gone. So in this aspect the experience of have English online was boring. However, the teachers were super good on they job. They always offered to explain every question, despite being in online mode they always had the best disposition. I need to improve my pronunciation and my grammar in some things, I plan to improve it with practice and using my English more. I Rarely use my English outside the English class and when I do is for watching TV series or when I read something in English and I have to translate to my mom.

Post 5: Changes to my study programme

I think the curriculum of my career is consistent with what is studied, because the subjects principally are like maths, physics, and history. I think that are the most important subjects to understand the architecture. The workload and length studies are always been the problem of the career and of the university because the workload, principally of the workshop, are super stressful and leaves us as students tired and anxious. I believe that we can learn the same without a lot of workload. However, to me, the length studies are right to learn everything we need as architects. The faculty of architecture and urbanism of the university of Chile have a lot of weaknesses in terms of structure, like the casino is so small for all the students, the calefaction doesn’t work well in all the classrooms and we don’t have spaces to rest or sleep. So, I would change this things to have a better faculty to all the necessities of the students. Another thing that I would change is the ...

Post 4: Personal Opinion

-What is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?   I think there are so many animals in the world that needs a home, that buying animals would be stupid, because you would be helping the market that abuses animals to reproduce and make money with them, instead of helping one that really needs it. -What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana and other drugs?   Legalizing marijuana in medicinal cases I think is the solution, because it serves in many cases as a painkiller and helps in the rehabilitation of people. On the other hand, if the consumption of other drugs is legalized, people would abuse them in Chile, since there is a wrong culture of them and they would lead to addiction. -What is your opinion about climate change?   Climate changes is real, and this hurts us all. I believe that people do not take the real weight that this is happening and that our planet is suffering the consequences of our irresponsibility in caring for the environme...

Post 3: My future job

I would like to work in an Officine of architects, with people which they principally interesting is the urbanism and landscaping. I would like to work with that kind of people, but not with an private real estate, because I thinks they are not interesting in the wellness of the people and they just want to get more money building houses that doesn't fit well with persons and their good living. I imagine it like working in an officine and go to the places where the projects will be stay. That means that I want to be indoors and outdoors workplaces I would like to travel a lot and meet new cultures, languages and learn architecture of different countries. I would also like to know how they teach architecture in these countries and learn more about their building culture and space analysis. I would also like to be able to teach everything I have learned in Chile in terms of anti-seismic construction, because in other countries these issues are not taken so much into account an...

Post 2: The Best Holiday ever

Imagen
I went to Torres del Paine on February 23 rd of this year whit my dad, my mom and my two brothers. I went for one week and it was amazing. First, we took a plane to get to Punta Arenas, there we visit the “Municipal cementery Sara Braun”. After that we went to Puerto Natales, it takes two hours. There we stayed in a cabin. The first thing that we did before Torres was visit the Megalodon cave, where was living a large herbivorous mammal that probably became extinct in the late Pleistocene. Finally, we went to Nacional Park Torres del Paine and it was so beautiful, it has viewpoints where was a lot of strong winds, walking trails and waterfalls. The most thing I love of the journey was the trekking of “bases Torres del Paine”, It was so tiring, but the view of the Torres is awesome and unforgettable. A relevant info is that my dad is so obsessed with pumas, and at the end of the trekking, finally we could saw one.

I I’ll like to go to Spain, because there are some many interesting architectures,  especially in Barcelona. A nd I want to know other cultures and lenguages.   Also, I would like to visit more countries in Europe, like France, Italy, Netherlands, and England. These for the same reason I said before. I know that there are so many famous architectural works that I would like to visit, because I like so much classical architecture. I would like to know the main buildings that are taught in architecture and learn much more about it, not only reading about them, but also watching them. Principally, I want to meet “Sagrada Familia´s” temple and “Casa Batlló”, both of Gaudí. Also I want to take so many pictures of everething and make memories. I would like to study there, because I think in Europe they explain in another way the architecture than in Chile and I could lear more lenguages and cultures. Also it could give me an status in my future job. The " Sagrada Familia" temple, B...
